LenWX, I am glad you knew what I meant and didn't take offence. I agree that it is true of any partisan debater and probably true of any non-partisan debate.
I imagine out of the three big ones, the LNP coalition, greens and Labors your view matches the LNPs more than the other two. Is that correct?
A debate between three people is frustrating to the others who would love to jump in as they do in all the debates on this blog. How many times have you sat through listening to a debate and mouthed a clever response under your breath with great frustration as to why the debater (on your side) didn't think of it?
I'm sure this is rhetorical but the answer is never. On top of that I have read little of substantive comment from many on here on any issue. There was a debate between me and Adrian on economics and a debate between just about everyone on the board about climate change and the proposed solutions. They're the only substantive contributions I recall during my time here.
This debate is the solution I think. We could remove the constraints of being "party stooges" and allow each representative, Conservative, Green, Liberal (in the American sense) i.e. Labor on policy issues and each can draw on policy solutions from real life or create their own.
If this goes ahead (which I doubt since it has gone along this quietly for so long already), I propose the debate ends August 20th
